Network Upgrade - Blocktime fluctuations expected ✴️ TL;DR: Neutron will be significantly slower for the next 48 hours, and significantly faster than previously after the upgrade (~2-2.5s). This work has enabled blocks to be finalized more reliably and faster, improving performance by roughly ~30%. This increased performance unfortunately threatened to cause the upgrade blockheight to be reached before the upgrade proposal was executed, which would have delayed the upgrade to after another proposal can be made and accepted. To avoid delaying the release to next year, Hadron Labs has been working with validators to slow the blocktime to ensure that the upgrade height is only reached after the proposal is executed. 👉 You can still vote on the Neutrality upgrade. Read the proposal and vote here. Once the upgrade has been successfully conducted, validators will return to high performance settings. These are expected to enable Neutron to reach a ~2s / ~2.5s blocktime consistently. Please be aware: 🚨Downtime is expected during the upgrade, and the network could be unavailable for up to several hours 🚨People holding high risk positions (e.g. loans on Mars) should consider closing them or reduce leverage/risk BEFORE the upgrade, as price could move during downtime.
